The Metropolis Police Department is responsible for the enforcement of all laws and ordinances of the State of Illinois and the City of Metropolis.
The Police Department includes Patrol, Detectives, 911 Dispatch and Animal Control.

It shall be the mission of the Metropolis Police Department to ensure our citizens and visitors enjoy a safe and secure community. We will strive to provide justice with compassion. We will guard the life, property and rights of all individuals.
